What is the Grace of God? How would you answer? In this episode I discuss this incredible gift offered to us by God.
In Ephesian 2, Paul tells us that we were all dead in our trespasses and that by the love and mercy of God, He saves us. There is nothing we did to deserve it. This is grace. We accept it by repenting from our rebellious ways and by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
In this episode, you will learn:
What is grace
How it is offered
How to accept God's grace
The cost for accepting His grace
Episode Overview:
We lived rebellious lives against God and deserved His judgment. Through His love and mercy, He saves us. This is nothing we can do to deserve this incredible gift. We accept it by repenting and placing our faith in Jesus Christ. This is grace.
Key Takeaway:
While we were dead in sin, God saved us
This is His gift freely offered to all those who place their faith in Jesus

Not sure what it means to follow Jesus? Is there a difference between being a Christian and becoming a disciple?
In this episode we explore scripture to learn all that Jesus says about following Him and becoming His disciple. We discuss what it is, the cost, and how they are made. We look to how Jesus is the model and how His model was used by the early church.
In this episode, you will learn:
What it means to follow Jesus
The cost of discipleship
Christian vs Disciple
What makes a disciple
The Great Commission
Imitation of Christ
Episode Overview:
In the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20), Jesus tells us that we are to make disciples of all nations. In His command, he shares what makes a disciple; someone who observes all that He commanded. All Christians are disciples, all disciples are to observe all Jesus commanded, and all disciples are to teach others how to observe. Jesus is the model used by the early church and continues to be the model to be used today.
Key Takeaway:
All Christians are called to be Jesus’ disciples
The cost of discipleship is putting Jesus before everything including family and self
Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19-20 (The Great Commission) what makes a disciple

Welcome
Following Jesus: Teaching Them to Observe All He Commanded focuses on answering three fundamental questions:

How is someone to live as a disciple of Jesus?
How do we teach others to become disciples of Jesus?

Each episode we will discover all that Jesus commanded and how this is to be applied to our lives in the modern context.
This is the journey that I am on and I invite you to join me.

Before Peter ever called Jesus the Christ, generations of Jews had longed for a deliverer—an anointed one who would restore Israel’s kingdom, purify the Temple, and bring justice to the world.
In this episode, Dr. Jeff Colburn uncovers the diverse messianic hopes of Second Temple Judaism—from royal sons of David to priestly reformers and prophetic figures like Moses and Elijah. Drawing on texts from the Hebrew Scriptures, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and writings like 1 Enoch and the Psalms of Solomon, we’ll explore how these expectations shaped the atmosphere of the Gospels.
Finally, we’ll see how Jesus both fulfilled and transformed these hopes—redefining messiahship not through conquest but through compassion, suffering, and resurrection.
Listen now to rediscover what “Christ” truly meant in the time of Jesus.
